ResearchProof for Academy Initiative is our new donation-based notarisation service for scientists to prove authorship of scientific results in a legally and internationally valid way using blockchain and cryptographic timestamping, to help scientists register early results, encouraging worry-free sharing and thus helping to increase the pace of production of scientific results. In view of the COVID-19 international emergency, to support as much as possible rapid dissemination of scientific research with new technological tools, we decided to make the ResearchProof for Academy Initiative permanently available to the scientific community as a donation-based service for academic use, meaning that if you belong to an academic institution, or if you perform independent scientific research, you can use our platform for free and donate to support us.

ResearchProof For Academy can be used to prove authorship of scientific results, pre-prints, intermediate results, scientific code, datasets, presentations.

The final purpose of ResearchProof is to build an holistic platform to streamline the publication process, allowing deposit, pre-publishing and sharing of scientific work from any scientific discipline and at any stage of development. ResearchProof For Academy is just the beginning!

The validity of our timestamps is legally recognized and guaranteed by the European Union, as our timestamps are certified to be compliant with the EU 910/2014 eIDAS regulation on Digital Trust services. Furthermore, their legal and international validity is extended worldwide to all the 172 countries that signed the Berne Convention for the protection of intellectual works.

When you register your scientific results on the ResearchProof For Academy, you obtain a timestamp that allows you to demonstrate that your work is original, provided that no one else generated a previous proof for the same content. At the moment of the deposit, the contents are also registered in the blockchain.

You simply have to fill in requested details about the deposit, and then upload a file containing all the content you want to protect (be it a zip, a pdf, a word or any other kind of file). If you use the Encryption option you will be asked to set a secure password to client-side encrypt your files, this means that no one, neiher us, will be able to read their content. Using your password you can read the content of your files at anytime.

The system will automatically generate an authorship declaration with your details and create a legally valid proof of your deposit. Read more
